Simon Gaitan was inspired to become a farmer by his father, who instilled in him a passion for farming and the work ethic it takes to be successful.

His father also helped him develop his love for plants as well, motivating him to take a gardening position with Walters Gardens. With a tremendous amount of experience behind him, Simon ventured out in 1979 and founded his own business selling plants, eggs, and blueberries at the Holland Farmers Market. Over 45 years later, he still enjoys meeting new customers at the Market and getting to know his fellow vendors.
